Explorers

Welcome to the Explorer Scout section pages

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. Fareham East have 4 Explorer Units serving the District:

  • Sea Dragons
  • Phoenix
  • Adurni
  • Watkins
Details of each Unit can be found via the Explorer Unit links on the left of this site. You can also check out the Explorers or Scout Activities website.

As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in the District, not just your Unit.

Contact our Assistant District Commissioner for Explorers.

Explorers Three Peaks Challenge

We have been asked if we would like to join Fareham West Explorers in a go at the Three Peaks Challenge.
This is open to Explorers only and involves climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in the shortest possible time.
No dates set yet, it's just an idea, although Fareham West Explorers are very keen. Interested Explorer Scouts will have to undertake a few training hikes - just to warm up ready for the challenge!
If you are interested please contact matt@digitalaction.co.uk ASAP.

Snow Update from the County Commissioner

Please remember our first duty is the well-being of the young people and adults in Scouting.

Don't be afraid to cancel or postpone meetings or events if in your judgement it's too risky for people to travel to them, and please advise your Groups and Units to do the same. There'll be another opportunity for Scouting to happen.
