Information Update - final Below are the final notes for the Camp The camp will be held at Lyons Copse, Shedfield, from 6pm Friday 8th May with a closing ceremony at 2pm on Sunday 10th May 2009 Camp Theme - This will be “Space”, celebrating 40 years since the Apollo Landing on the Moon. To date the following aspects have been chosen by Groups;- District Team/Fellowship – Mission Control Please see the final Site layout, which is determined by Group numbers. Actual site sizes will be determined on arrival. Access to site to erect tent age etc will be available as usual on the Thursday evening. Activities - A full list of organised activities is attached. Please note all activities require parental consent, and Shooting requires additional parental approval, all forms attached 1st Catisfield Group have organised an inter- group “space battle” event, details attached, which Groups will allocate time on Saturday afternoon and evening to prepare for, with the battle on Sunday Morning. Andrea Barnes is also waiting for information from all Groups for the “Passport” activities system, where each Group has an activity or activities at their site and all young people can come and tick off their passport. Please contact Andrea with information; it won’t work unless everyone joins in! Andy Daylrimple is organising his now famous Inter Group Rounder’s competition, full details at the Team Meeting on the Friday night of Camp. Some activities, Kite making, penalty Shootout etc. will have “timed" access. This will be discussed and agreed at the Friday team meeting. Camp Fire - Every Group will be expected to do a song or skit on a “space” theme. More details at the Team Meeting on Friday evening Beavers will sleep for one night of camp, 1st Catisfield, 2nd Fareham and 17th Fareham sleeping over on Friday night, and 1st Fareham, 15th Fareham and 3rd Portchester on Saturday night Cost - The cost of the Camp will be £14.00 per Cub, Scout & Explorer for Camp Fees, Activities etc. & £9 for Beavers staying over night. Beavers only staying for the Saturday “day” activities will pay £6.00. Food will be charged extra by each Group; Camp Badge – The Badge has been ordered and should be available in a few days. Attendees- Some Groups/Units have still not submitted numbers, this is making things very difficult with planning. Full numbers and money to Jim Weeks ASAP please. Programme - This is attached, but may be subject to change Cleaning Rota - It is everyone’s responsibility to keep the site clean, and a cleaning rota is attached. Arrival & departure - Please note arrival and departure times, and ask all parents NOT to arrive too early, unless helping to clear up, and “car share” where possible. Please also note (as in previous years) we will be operating a one way system outside the site, which will help with traffic flow and delays. Please make ALL parents aware of this, and ask them to be considerate and use the road system, (please see the attached map) As usual several local dignitaries have been invited to visit the site, and to date the following have accepted invitations;- County Commissioner – Drop in sometime! Personal Learning Plan – Training - Julie and Peter Lawley will be coming to site on Saturday afternoon to carry out Module 2 PLP training. As leaders get a chance they can come to the Lyons Lodge and discuss training NAN Forms Please ensure that every section Leader has their own Permission to Camp forms for their sections as each Section Leader is responsible for their own young people in their sections.
