Remembrance Parade Thanks 2009

Hi All,

May I take this opportunity to say what a great turn out we had for the Remembrance Day Parade today. All well turned out and very smart and well behaved, a credit to the Fareham East District.

Well Done everyone.

To all who participated, I have been asked by Ron Stead - who must have all the credit for arrangements for this year's parade - to convey his thanks.
I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Ron on such an impressive result.

Thanks,
Mike

My thanks for an extremely good turnout of the District for the Remembrance Day Parade. I estimated about 90 Beavers and Cubs and about 110 Scouts, Explorers and Network attended, the most numbers yet . At the reception afterwards there were many compliments on the turnout and how well you conducted yourselves.
There were hopes that you had not suffered too much in the cold weather.
The guard of honour for the Mayoral party from my viewpoint was excellent, well dressed, attentive and still. Thanks to Paul Rutter for arranging that and for the reformation in front of the memorial. Thanks also for Alex Lester who was asked at the last minute by the British Legion to carry the flag at the memorial itself. Also to the Scout from 2F who carried the wreath.

I know there was a problem of space with the Cubs and Beavers which I will bring up at the wash-up meeting of the parade as also the access problem into the church grounds of the rest of the District.

It was mentioned to me that the Beavers/Cubs might want to join the rest of the District in the church grounds rather than be in front of the memorial. Please discuss and let me know your wishes about this.

Please pass these comments on to those in your Group who may not be receiving Mike's e-mail.
