District Letter - Amended

DC's Corner

Dear Leaders and Supporters,

Following me sending out the District Review in September and the Introduction of various items within the District I seem to have made some errors folllowing our meeting which have been brought to my attention. Only one Leader has brought these items to my attention and he has told me that some other leaders feel the same. I would have liked anyone who has a problem with the changes made to have taken time out to talk to me about them. If no one says anything then it is assumed by us that its all ok and thats why I proceeded with sending it out as it was.

I always put my hands up if I am wrong or feel that people are unhappy with the situation and I have to say that I only have your interests at heart as you are all voluteers and those of all our members. The DC's job is never a happy one we have many different situations to deal with some can and have been very unpleasant to deal with. But on Occassions you may not like what I do but please understand that there is always a reason behind what I have done and unfortunately I have to make these decisions whether they are liked or not and for that I apologise.

I have made two amendments to the Review with reference to Nights Away and you now only have to produce the Programme, Risk Assessment and Menu for events outside the County. The second is that the Inspections I talked about is now an item on the District Scouters meeting to see if you can make some suggestions as to how we could do this. My Idea was for a District Trophy for the Outstanding Group which I felt was a good idea your thoughts would be appreciated.

I hope that this will help but please feel to talk to me - I don't bite, I listen.

Regards
Tony Parkinson
District Commissioner
